Creators will be able to publish image carousels
YouTube has announced a series of updates to its Shorts platform, introducing new image-based features designed to enhance short-form content creation and give creators more storytelling options.
Under the latest update, creators can now publish image carousel posts within YouTube Shorts, allowing them to share up to 10 photos in a single post. Viewers can browse through the images by swiping across the screen, offering a more interactive viewing experience.
The new feature also enables creators to add individual text captions to each image, making it easier to tell stories or provide context. In addition, users can include background music of up to 15 seconds, helping make image-based Shorts more engaging.
According to YouTube, creators can choose audio from its licensed music library or its own collection, while the AI-powered “Dream Track” tool will also be available in supported regions for generating music where applicable.
The company said the new features are aimed at giving creators, artists, and brands greater flexibility to produce visually engaging content and promotional material. The update is part of YouTube’s broader effort to strengthen Shorts and remain competitive in the rapidly growing short-form video market.
