ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Pakistan on Monday on an official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation, according to Iranian media reports.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed his Iranian counterpart at the airport. Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present to receive the visiting delegation.

During the reception ceremony, Talal Chaudhry presented a bouquet to Minister Momeni as a gesture of goodwill and friendship between the two neighboring countries.

Welcoming the visiting dignitary, Mohsin Naqvi said, “I welcome you to Pakistan,” expressing hope that the visit would further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Islamabad and Tehran.

The visit comes at a time when Pakistan and Iran are seeking to deepen collaboration on border security, counterterrorism, regional stability, and the promotion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Officials from both sides are expected to hold high-level meetings to discuss matters of mutual interest, including enhancing security coordination along the Pakistan-Iran border, tackling cross-border crimes, and expanding cooperation in areas of shared concern.

Pakistan and Iran have maintained close diplomatic engagement in recent months, with both governments emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and stronger regional partnerships. Minister Momeni’s visit is expected to reinforce these efforts and pave the way for greater cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
