Field Marshal Asim Munir: Pakistan Ready to Counter All Security Threats
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to confront evolving security challenges, declaring that every attempt to destabilise the country or promote cross-border terrorism will be met with the full strength of the state.
According to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing graduating officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad.
During his address, Field Marshal Asim Munir said hostile elements backed by foreign intelligence agencies would not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s peace, security or economic progress. He stressed that cross-border terrorism would be eliminated through the combined efforts of the armed forces and the nation.
The army chief highlighted the rapidly changing nature of modern warfare, saying today’s security environment requires strategic foresight, institutional professionalism and continuous adaptation. He noted that Pakistan’s armed forces are restructuring their operational and development strategies to meet the demands of future conflicts and emerging threats.
Praising the National Defence University, he said the institution plays a vital role in preparing both military and civilian leaders to effectively respond to hybrid, conventional and sub-conventional warfare with strategic insight and confidence.
Emphasising the importance of national cohesion, Field Marshal Asim Munir said wars are not won through media narratives or political slogans but through faith, unity and discipline. He also expressed confidence in the professionalism, preparedness and combat capability of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Concluding his speech, the army chief urged the graduating officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, selfless service and unwavering dedication to the nation throughout their careers.
