Pakistan stars make gains in latest ICC ODI rankings, while Rashid Khan and Daryl Mitchell retain top positions.
LAHORE: Pakistan batting star Babar Azam has moved up one place in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings, while several other Pakistani cricketers also registered improvements following recent international fixtures, including the ODI series between West Indies and New Zealand.
Babar climbed from seventh to sixth in the ODI batting rankings with 689 rating points, strengthening his position among the world’s top limited-overs batters.
Pakistan’s white-ball captain Salman Ali Agha also enjoyed a rise, moving up two places from 18th to 16th after reaching 630 rating points.
Former captain and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan maintained his 31st position with 560 points, while left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman slipped one place to 37th with 544 points. Young opener Saim Ayub remained unchanged in 44th place.
At the top of the batting rankings, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell retained the No. 1 position with 802 rating points, followed by India captain Shubman Gill in second and veteran batter Virat Kohli in third.
Shaheen Afridi Moves Up in Bowling Rankings
Pakistan’s pace attack also received a boost in the latest ODI bowling rankings.
Left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi climbed two places to seventh with 604 rating points, while speedster Haris Rauf also advanced two spots to reach 20th with 556 points.
Fast bowler Naseem Shah dropped two places to 49th with 477 points, whereas Mohammad Wasim Jr improved one position to 70th after collecting 432 rating points. All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz retained his 80th place with 407 points.
Rashid Khan Remains No. 1
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan continued to lead the ICC ODI bowling rankings, maintaining his status as the world’s top-ranked ODI bowler.
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed held on to second place, keeping the pressure on Rashid, while England pacer Jofra Archer climbed into third position, replacing South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in the top three.
The latest rankings reflect the impact of recent ODI performances and provide an early indication of player form as teams continue preparations for upcoming international assignments.
