MIAMI, FL — Norway’s historic FIFA World Cup 2026™ campaign has hit an unexpected off-pitch hurdle just days before their monumental quarter-final showdown against England.
The Scandinavian side was forced to execute a rapid hotel relocation in Miami after players deemed their initial accommodation completely unsatisfactory for high-level athletic recovery.

FIFA agreed to cover the cost of the standard 50 rooms and security, while the Norwegian FA stepped in to cover the additional premium expenses for the upgraded facility.
“It is brutal having to move, but we are satisfied with the new place and everyone is happy now,” said Norway team logistics manager Truls Daehli. “The process of changing hotels is not ideal, but we wanted to take action as soon as possible. Having a good atmosphere is most important.”
The accommodation setback follows an earlier scare within the camp involving a minor bout of illness that spread through several players earlier in the week. Manager Stale Solbakken has since confirmed that the affected individuals are recovering well and are expected to be available for selection.
