ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has issued a vital advisory for all registered beneficiaries regarding the updated methodology for receiving financial assistance. To ensure a smoother and more secure distribution process, authorities are urging all eligible women to strictly follow the newly implemented digital guidelines. This transition is intended to replace outdated manual disbursement systems with a more efficient, technology-driven framework that eliminates the need for physical office visits or waiting in long, crowded queues.
A critical step in this new process involves the mandatory use of dedicated BISP SIM cards. Beneficiaries who have not yet obtained their assigned SIM cards are encouraged to collect them immediately. Upon acquiring the SIM, recipients must observe a mandatory waiting period of 10 to 12 days before attempting to access their financial aid. This buffer period is essential to allow for the proper synchronization of account details and the activation of digital wallet services, ensuring that the subsequent transfer of funds proceeds without technical interruptions.
Under the new system, quarterly stipends of Rs 14,500 will be deposited directly into the beneficiaries’ secure digital wallet accounts. Once a deposit is finalized, the recipient will receive an automated SMS notification on their registered mobile number, detailing the amount credited, withdrawal specifics, and any applicable bank charges—which are set at Rs 280. Because the funds are securely held within the digital account, beneficiaries are advised that there is no need to rush to cash centers; they retain full autonomy to withdraw their funds at their own convenience.
