Gaza City: At least eight Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to Gaza’s Civil Defence, as violence continued to escalate in the besieged enclave.

Civil Defence officials said that among those killed were a man and a woman who died when an Israeli helicopter strike hit an apartment building south of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.

Separate Israeli strikes were also reported in other parts of the territory. According to emergency responders, three people were killed in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while one person lost their life in Gaza City’s Old City following another strike.

Rescue teams said they continued searching damaged buildings and responding to emergency calls in several locations affected by the attacks.

The Israeli military had not immediately commented on the reported strikes or the casualties.

The latest violence comes amid ongoing hostilities in Gaza, where repeated airstrikes and ground operations have caused widespread destruction, displacement, and mounting humanitarian concerns.

Authorities in Gaza continue to report civilian casualties from the conflict, while international organizations have repeatedly called for greater protection of civilians and renewed efforts to secure humanitarian access and reduce the fighting.

The situation across the Gaza Strip remains highly volatile as military operations continue and humanitarian conditions deteriorate.
